A winter fairytale in the Aurina Valley
Speeding along on perfectly groomed slopes. Rocky giants covered in a white blanket.
There are four ski areas close to Lutago:
the Klausberg ski resort, the Mount Spicco/Speikboden ski area, and the ski facilities at Rio Bianco and Riva di Tures, offering a total of 74 kilometres of slopes! And if you want even more choice, there's the nearby Plan de Corones, which with 119 km of slopes is a true paradise for snow lovers.
Starting from there, you can soon get right to the heart of the Dolomites, and an infinite number of possibilities for winter sport.

Away from the ski slopes, you can follow exciting ski mountaineering trails, hike along well-beaten paths, go snowshoeing in the wonderful winter landscape of the Aurina Valley, and speed down the longest toboggan run in South Tyrol!
An extra treat? If there's enough snow, you can start off from the Speikboden ski area - on a sled or skis - and travel all the way down to our apartments.

Listen up: these are our favourites
- Snowshoe hike to Malga Pircher (1,810 m)
Malga Pircher at Rio Bianco is a popular destination for both locals and tourists - not least because of the natural toboggan run, which goes right past the mountain hut. And so: put on your snowshoes, hike up to the hut, have some refreshments, and then speed down on a sled, available to rent at the hut itself.
- Ski-mountaineering on Mount Zinsnock (2,435 m)
Challenging yes, but not impossible: this itinerary takes you to the summit of Mount Zinsnock, which rises above Rio Bianco. You can enjoy some amazing views, and then a memorable descent!
- Winter walk to Malga Jägerhütte
The hut is open in winter and makes an excellent goal for a family outing! It's at Casere, at the bottom of the Aurina Valley, and you get to it by following a sunny cross-country trail.
- Hike to Malga Knuttenalm
Many of you will have visited this enchanting spot during a summer walk. However, it's also a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts during the colder months.
